This is a story of how GOD answers the prayers of His children. You will be amazed at the awesome work that God can and will do if you just ask Him. Rick and I are in the process of adopting Trevor. He is five years old. My parents are adopting his half brother, Christian. He is 4 years old. Rick and I had prayed for a child in August 1997 that had no outside ties. We both have children by previous marriages but did not have one we could call 'ours'. When we prayed for a child - God spoke to us and said the child is on the way. He laid it on our hearts to go ahead and prepare a nursery for the baby. So we went ahead and painted the extra bedroom in our house, bought all the nursery items needed, and decorated the room in Noah's Ark. (You know - Noah built the ark before it had ever even rained.) Everyone thought we were crazy - especially since I had had my tubes tied in 1993. But we told everyone that God was sending us a baby - And He did just that! NINE MONTHS LATER! Praise the Lord! In May of 1998, my first cousin's wife was murdered in Greenville and she had these two boys. Her death was very tragic. My first cousin is in prison with a possible parolle not until about 2005. Anyway, when she was killed we took the boys and to make a long story shorter - my parents ended up with Christian and we got Trevor. Well, we had to go get DNA testing done to prove paternity of the boys for adoption purposes and guess what? Trevor was not my cousin's child! No outside ties - mother deceased and father unknown. Christian was my cousin's child. GOD IS SO GOOD! He knew that Trevor was our answered prayer! Anyway, we have had him three years and the adoption will be final in a week (as of this writing). We are just waiting on the final court hearing for it to be complete. And we are so ready for him to finally be "ours". This whole story is truly amazing when I sit back and think about how GOD works. HE is so awesome. Oh, and God is even letting the state pay for the adoption - it is costing us nothing - zero!!! Praise the LORD! So - now you know our praise report on how GOD can answer prayer. He is truly a very personal God and He is no respector of persons. What He has done for us, He will do for you.
